ENERGY FLOW SYSTEMS, INC.
Est. Houston, Texas

Six decades of flow measurement.

Companies don't survive sixty years in the process industries on luck. They survive on relationship, trust, and experience.

1964
The flow meters we build enter service in municipal water and sewage plants and industrial process plants — the start of a service record that now spans refining, gas pipelines, metals, power, and chemical plants.
1977
Jay Patel enters the flow-measurement trade, learning it from the drawing board to the shop floor.
1982
Jay founds Energy Flow Systems, Inc., building on that heritage — the same designs, the same standards, under one roof in Houston.
Today
EFS still designs and fabricates custom flow meters at 6021 Calhoun Rd in Houston — the same way: to spec, to code, calibrated before it ships.

The Code Shop

Built to code. Documented to match.

Energy Flow Systems is a code shop: inspection and manufacturing procedures conform with ASME and ANSI power piping and refinery codes, and our flow meters meet many nuclear power plant requirements. Fabrication is done by skilled code welders with automatic welding equipment on rotating positioners.

Micrometer inspection readings are recorded and supplied on request; hydrostatic testing and weld X-raying are available where the service demands it. Materials run from carbon and stainless steels to Inconel, Monel, alloy 20, and Hastelloy, with NACE MR-0175 conformance available.

The proudest jobs are the odd ones — like the 36-inch venturi engineered for a project in Alaska, work that took our founder across the Atlantic to the Netherlands to get right. Sixty years in, the phone still rings for the jobs nobody else wants to figure out.
