The flow nozzle passes maximum flows nearly twice as great as a thin-plate orifice at the same differential pressure, with a lower overall permanent loss for a given beta ratio. Like the venturi, it has no sharp edges or protrusions to wear, so accuracy is sustained indefinitely.

The completeness of published ASME research data permits Energy Flow to provide the ASME-type nozzle with an accuracy of ±1% without flow calibration; laboratory flow calibration is available where ±0.25% is required.

Each nozzle is manufactured for a specific beta ratio or throat diameter — the optimum design for your differential pressure, piping requirements, and accuracy of measurement. Weld-in models can be supplied pre-installed in the necessary upstream and downstream piping as a complete assembly, insuring maximum accuracy.
